I've had many thoughts and ideas run through my mind today. Some were more profound than others. One of these thoughts is about our past work. Just a mere two years ago I thought I was not a good photographer, that my work was amateur. I felt like I was no where near where in my mind I needed to be. When I look through my work from two years ago I am surprised to see how far from the truth those thoughts were. I find that my work was better than I ever saw it. I can feature the work on this post and you would never know it was from two years ago. Yes, I have gotten better and will continue to get better. Yes, there has been a huge improvement in my photography, but my images were still beautiful two years ago.
I'm not saying this to promote photography and how great I think it is (or isn't), but I am saying this because it is important to revisit your old work. You'll be rather surprised at what you find as I was. You will notice that you either significantly improved or you will notice that you were better than you ever gave yourself credit for. So take some time out and see what you find by revisiting your earlier creations.
